Founded in 2016, tomtoc creates refined carry solutions centred on tech protection and thoughtful organisation for people around the world. Designed for a generation always on the move, tomtoc combines innovative design with lasting quality to bring safety, portability, and comfort to every journey.

The brand grew from a simple question: how to protect thin laptops without adding unnecessary bulk? That thinking shaped tomtoc’s first product, the Defender-A13 Laptop Sleeve. After extensive research and testing, the team developed CornerArmor®, a patented impact-absorbing protection system built into the corners of a laptop sleeve. “We developed CornerArmor® with the goal of protecting the areas most vulnerable to impact,” says Eve Liao, tomtoc VP of marketing.

The Defender-A13 Laptop Sleeve remains one of the company’s flagship products. By focusing protection on the most vulnerable areas, including the corners, edges and lid, the A13 showed how thoughtful design could provide strong protection without compromising portability. “The A13 established a principle that has guided tomtoc ever since: start with a real need, then create a solution that makes everyday use safer and easier,” says Liao.

Carry ideas, carry fun: expanding the way we carry

Over the past ten years, tomtoc has remained focused on keeping digital devices safe and easy to carry. As people’s needs have expanded from daily commutes to travelling, tomtoc has brought the same design philosophy to a wider range of solutions.

The Navigator-T66 Travel Laptop Backpack is one example. It combines the capacity of a suitcase with the mobility of a backpack, while its suitcase-style opening makes it easier to see and access everything inside. A separate laptop compartment also makes airport security more convenient. “We knew that taking a laptop out at airport security can be a hassle, which led us to create a separate laptop compartment that also opens flat,” explains Liao.

From packing to everyday carry, the same thinking extends across tomtoc’s broader range of products, reflecting a focused, rigorous, and forward-looking approach to design.

Die Defender-A13 Laptop-Hülle ist bis heute eines der Aushängeschilder des Unternehmens. Sie schützt gezielt die empfindlichsten Stellen wie Ecken, Kanten und Deckel und zeigt so, wie durchdachtes Design einen starken Schutz bieten kann, ohne die Transportfähigkeit einzuschränken. „Die A13 hat ein Prinzip etabliert, das tomtoc seitdem stetig begleitet: Wir gehen von einem echten Bedürfnis aus und schaffen eine Lösung, die den täglichen Gebrauch sicherer und einfacher macht“, sagt Liao.

Carry Ideas, Carry Fun: Das Tragen weitergedacht

In den letzten zehn Jahren hat sich tomtoc darauf konzentriert, digitale Geräte sicher und leicht transportierbar zu machen. Da sich die Bedürfnisse der Menschen vom täglichen Pendeln auf das Reisen ausgeweitet haben, hat tomtoc dieselbe Designphilosophie auf ein breiteres Angebot an Lösungen übertragen.

Der Navigator-T66 Reise-Laptoprucksack ist ein gutes Beispiel dafür. Er kombiniert das Fassungsvermögen eines Koffers mit der Mobilität eines Rucksacks, während seine kofferähnliche Öffnung es einfach macht, das verstaute Gepäck einzusehen und herauszunehmen. Ein separates Laptopfach sorgt für eine problemlose Sicherheitskontrolle am Flughafen. „Das Herausnehmen eines Laptops bei der Sicherheitskontrolle kann sehr mühsam sein. Das hat uns dazu veranlasst, ein separates Laptopfach zu entwickeln, das sich flach aufklappen lässt“, erklärt Liao.
