“Basel, with its enthusiasm and cultural openness, is the perfect venue for the ESC,” commented former FCB player Marco Streller shortly before Eurovision was announced to be held in Basel. Singer Anna Rossinelli said; “The Eurovision Song Contest stands for cultural, artistic, and human diversity. It’s a perfect fit: even on the many large and small stages in the region, artists with very different backgrounds and individual stories perform. With the Eurovision Song Contest, we can make Europe and the entire world our stage for a few weeks – a unique opportunity for Basel!”
