TKEZ are an internationally operating Architecture & Design Studio based in Munich, with a focus on architecture, interior design, New Work and building redevelopment.

An immersive, conceptual approach and the creation of a unique narrative for each project, based on a conscientious analysis of the client’s needs, the specific site as well as functional space programming highlight the TKEZ portfolio.

TKEZ partners Tanjo Klöpper and Eugenia Zimmermann make sure to generate the conceptual DNA of a project to match or even generate the visual identity for their client: “The strength of our office is to consequently follow the specific design DNA through to each detail of layout, spatial relationships as well as our custom designed fittings and furniture,” states architect Eugenia Zimmermann. The self-imposed consistency and compliance with the conceptual parameters become palpable in a love for detail, but also serve for a ‘cast from the same mould’ quality marking of the high standard that TKEZ architects set for themselves and their work.

TKEZ architects define their architecture by a clear position rather than a repetitive style. As architect Tanjo Klöpper explains: “What makes TKEZ studio unique is the initial search for the essence of the project, followed by the highest quality in execution of architectural concepts spanning from private commissions to office concepts strengthening a company’s individual CI (thus enhancing the identification with the company), through to projects for the community and the public.”

Tanjo Klöpper and Eugenia Zimmermann both joined renowned international architectural firms in Switzerland, the US and the Netherlands for several years after their studies: Their combined expertise was built working with such renowned names as Herzog & de Meuron architects (Basel), REX NY as well as UNStudio (Amsterdam). Since founding TKEZ architecture & design in 2012, the young office has specialised in architectural and interior design projects with a very distinct ‘touch and feel’ quality through all building phases from first draft through to execution. TKEZ work at the pulsating interface of architecture and design and their holistic approach allows them to develop individual interiors and new buildings across a variety of sectors.

Structure, surface and lighting concepts are important tools to create architecture and design with high functionality, comfort and motivation, no matter if it is a private commission or office building. New Work projects are in fact especially sensitive with regards to meeting variable requests and challenges: Far from being just workspaces, they also need to reflect a collaborative quality as well as the firm’s identity. Together with the client, TKEZ develops a concept which highlights the individual corporate identity and passion a company stands for – the essence of the brand – making it both visible and relatable.

The first TKEZ project was the direct commission by a German entrepreneur for a luxury residence in the Dominican Republic, meticulously designed from layout through to interior details and custom furniture designs, such as canopy beds and natural stone sinks. As even fittings and interiors are delivered from the same hand, each finished TKEZ project is presented to the client ‘with the towel on the hook’.

The first NEW WORK project was created for soccer app provider OneFootball – the proverbial ‘kickoff’ for many similar commissions to follow, namely the Online Bank N26, global consulting specialists BAIN & COMPANY as well as Berlin-based KITCHEN STORIES. Most recently, TKEZ completed the interior design of the twelve-story TIPICO Headquarters building in Malta in collaboration with TIPICO‘s in-house architect Cordula Jacobi and Laborette. The new innovation centre for the Bavarian PROFOL GmbH near Munich was just finished in 2023.
