The Stapferhaus in Lenzburg puts the big questions of our times front and centre. What shapes our lives? What moves our country and the world? The topical exhibition FAKE. The Whole Truth deals with the topic of truth versus lies.

The cultural institution has been shedding light on relevant contemporary questions for the past 60 years and brings them to life with sensual, experience-based ‘exhibition worlds’. As a place for dialogue, inspiration and revelations, the Stapferhaus welcomes both the young and the old, experts and amateurs, supporters and opponents – in short, all those who want to explore the big contemporary topics of our existence.

Situated right by the Lenzburg train station, the new building features pioneering architecture. The unique wooden structure was created to encourage constant change: walls can be shifted, floors can be opened and staircases moved. Every two years, a new, interactive exhibition can be experienced at the Stapferhaus across approximately 1,500 square metres of floor space.

For the FAKE: The Whole Truth exhibition, the Stapferhaus has morphed into the ‘department of the whole truth’. This new ‘institution’ deals with truth-meddling phenomena of our times such as fake news, fake identities and profiles through to cheating politicians – because one thing is for sure: never has there been more ‘fakeness’ in our lives than today. And we are at the front line, constantly asking ourselves: What is real, what is a lie? Whom can or should we trust? The fictitious department of truth invites everyone to get to the bottom of things. Which lies are important or necessary and which are deadly? While roaming the offices, visitors will check facts, meet decision makers as well as lying fish, and they will also have the opportunity to discuss truth in love and everyday life. A great opportunity for the whole family.

The exhibition can be experienced in English, German and French. For kids aged six and above, the ‘Kinderspur’ provides special child-related explorations. Guided tours and exhibition-related workshops are available for all ages.

FAKE – ein interaktives Abenteuer für die ganze Familie

Im Stapferhaus in Lenzburg stehen die großen Fragen der Gegenwart im Mittelpunkt: Was unser Leben prägt, unser Land beschäftigt und die Welt bewegt. Die aktuelle Ausstellung FAKE. Die ganze Wahrheit behandelt das Thema Wahrheit und Lüge.

Das Stapferhaus ist eine Kulturinstitution in Lenzburg (AG), die sich seit 60 Jahren mit relevanten Themen der Zeit beschäftigt und sie für die Besucherinnen und Besucher in sinnlichen Ausstellungswelten erlebbar macht. An diesem Ort des Dialogs, der Inspiration und der Erkenntnis sind alle willkommen: Jung und Alt, Expertinnen und Laien, Befürworter und Gegnerinnen. Alle, die unsere Zeit und sich selbst besser verstehen wollen.

Der Neubau direkt am Bahnhof Lenzburg ist auch aus architektonischer Sicht pionierhaft: Er ist aus Holz gebaut und auf Veränderung ausgelegt – so können Wände bearbeitet, Böden geöffnet und Treppen verschoben werden. Alle zwei Jahre eröffnet im Stapferhaus eine neue Ausstellung. Die rund 1.500 Quadratmeter freie Fläche werden bespielt mit interaktiven, sinnlichen Ausstellungswelten. So schafft das Stapferhaus erlebnisorientierte Zugänge und bietet einen Ort des Dialogs, der Inspiration und der spielerischen Erkenntnis.

Für die aktuelle Ausstellung FAKE. Die ganze Wahrheit hat sich das Stapferhaus in das ‚Amt für die ganze Wahrheit‘ verwandelt. Darin geht es um Fake News, um Fake-Profile, Fake-Produkte und um Politiker, die nicht die Wahrheit sagen. Denn eines ist klar: So viel Fake wie heute war noch nie. Und wir alle sind mittendrin und fragen uns: Was ist echt, was ist wahr und was gelogen?

In diesem fiktiven Amt sind alle eingeladen, den Lügen auf den Zahn und der Wahrheit den Puls zu fühlen. Zusammen entscheiden die Besucherinnen und Besucher, welche Lügen wichtig, welche nötig und welche tödlich sind. Im Gang durchs Amt machen sie den Faktencheck, sie begegnen Verantwortungsträgern, staunen über lügende Fische, diskutieren über Ehrlichkeit in der Liebe und Höflichkeiten im Alltag. Ein tolles Erlebnis für die ganze Familie!

Die Ausstellung kann auf Deutsch, Französisch und Englisch erlebt werden, für Kinder ab sechs Jahren gibt es eine spezielle ‚Kinderspur‘. Im Angebot sind Führungen und begleitende Workshops für alle Altersstufen.
