He founded Meine Namibia Safaris in 2018. His mission? Certainly not mass tourism, but genuine, personal travel experiences. “You don’t have to be a hardcore off-roader or a survival expert. All you need is curiosity and an open mind,” says the founder. Today, the tour company offers guided off-road expeditions through remote areas of Namibia and Botswana as well as customised self-drive tours designed with local insight.

“Many of our guests say that it feels as though they are travelling with a friend who just happens to know every hidden track, every secret campsite, every story behind the landscape. I don’t do scripted speeches. I share the Namibia I know and love in a way that feels personal and authentic,” stresses Rainer.

Seine tiefe Verbundenheit zur Natur und zur Weite des Landes waren der Anstoß zur Gründung von Meine Namibia Safaris. „Ich wollte, dass andere erfahren können, was ich in Europa am meisten vermisste hatte: die Ruhe, das Land und das Gefühl, im Nirgendwo zu stehen und zu merken, wie wenig man eigentlich benötigt, um sich lebendig zu fühlen”, erklärt der Gründer.

So gründete er im Jahr 2018 Meine Namibia Safaris. Seine Mission? Echte, persönliche Reiseerlebnisse statt Massentourismus. „Man muss kein Off-Road-Profi oder Survival-Experte sein. Alles, was man braucht, ist Neugierde und ein offenes Herz”, betont der Gründer.
Heute bietet das Unternehmen geführte Off-Road-Expeditionen durch abgelegene Regionen Namibias und Botswanas und individuell, von lokalen Insidern geplante, Selbstfahrertouren an.

„Viele unserer Kunden sagen, es fühle sich an, als würden sie mit einem Freund reisen, der eben rein zufällig jeden versteckten Pfad, jeden geheimen Zeltplatz und die Geschichten jedes Ortes kennt. Ich halte keine vorbereiteten Vorträge. Ich teile das Namibia, das ich kenne und liebe, auf eine sehr persönliche und authentische Art und Weise”, betont Rainer.
