ART AUSTRIA, VIENNA (5 – 8 MAY)

Held at the famous MuseumsQuartier Vienna, this year marks the art festival’s 15th anniversary and promises to be extra special. Over 45 leading galleries are showcasing artworks following this year’s fitting ‘Best of’ motto. The exhibitions are accompanied by music on the plaza and are a true celebration of art.

GENUSSFESTIVAL, VIENNA (6 – 8 MAY)

Once again, the legendary Genussfestival sees plenty of pleasure seekers flock to Vienna city park to enjoy a marvellous selection of Austrian culinary specialities. From Viennese wine and escargots, poppy seed oil from the Waldviertel, Carinthian honey, saffron from the Wachau or spicy cheese from Vorarlberg – the sky’s the limit.

DANCE FESTIVAL ZÜRICH TANZT, ZURICH (13 – 29 MAY)

Finally, Zurich is ready to dance again. For over two weeks this festival turns the city into a massive dance floor with workshops, Sunday raves, break-dance battles and many performances. Pack your dancing shoes and celebrate the tenth anniversary of this special festival.

FORMULA E RACE – BERLIN EPRIX 2022 (14 – 15 MAY)

Yet again Berlin hosts the all-electric Formula E Championship. The race will take place at the former Tempelhof Airport and promises to be great fun. Get ready Berlin, because Formula E is officially back and all revved up.

KLANGFRÜHLING BUGENLAND, SCHLAINING (21 – 29 MAY

Held at Schlaining castle, this annual music festival offers a range of different classical music events accompanied by superb culinary treats. This year’s motto is ‘Wonder’, which certainly requires no further explanation. Ready to be amazed by grand music and fabulous food?

IWELT MARATHON, WÜRZBUG (25 MAY)

This marathon is one of the few in Germany which is a qualifier for the famous Boston marathon. It is a highly professional spring marathon that attracts over 4,000 runners each year. Runners can also opt for a half marathon, so there are no excuses.

19TH FESTIVAL FOR SHORT FILM, ANIMATION & MUSIC VIDEOS, VIENNA (25 – 30 MAY)

This is Austria’s biggest short film festival and an absolute must for short film buffs. Since 2021, it has been a hybrid event held both in person and online. It’s a great platform that showcases international short films with a maximum length of 30 minutes, as well as featuring new talents from Austria and abroad.
