Romantik Hotel Santer: Where tradition meets the Dolomites

The Three Peaks, Lake Braies, endless skies. Anyone arriving in Toblach quickly understands why Gustav Mahler was so captivated by this place. Nestled in the breathtaking mountain landscape of the UNESCO-listed Dolomites, the four-star superior Romantik Hotel Santer has been combining traditional South Tyrolean hospitality with modern comfort for five generations.

“It is wonderfully beautiful here and will certainly repair body and soul,” wrote Gustav Mahler about Toblach in a letter in 1909. Today, guests come here not despite the tranquillity, but because of it. At the heart of the hotel lies a wellness lodge spanning more than 3,000 square metres. Seven themed saunas, including a charming fir-wood sauna housed in a rustic treehouse and the panoramic lounge sauna overlooking the Dolomites, are complemented by spacious relaxation areas and a selection of indoor and outdoor pools. Outside, the saltwater pool invites guests to relax while its mineral-rich water leaves skin feeling soft and refreshed.

Regional and homemade.

In the Landro rooms, floor-to-ceiling windows bring the surrounding mountains indoors, while natural materials and warm wood finishes create a welcoming atmosphere. Not your generic hotel design, but a genuine sense of having arrived somewhere special.

Then, in the evening: meat from the hotel’s own farm, regional ingredients and South Tyrolean cuisine with a contemporary touch, accompanied by carefully selected local wines. A complete feel-good package.

Incidentally, the hotel also operates its own biomass heating plant and solar energy system – a fitting choice in a region where nature has always taken centre stage.

Herzstück des Hauses ist die über 3.000 Quadratmeter große Wellness-Lodge: Sieben Themensaunen, darunter eine Tannensauna im urigen Baumhaus und die Panorama-Lounge-Sauna mit Blick auf die Dolomiten, großzügige Ruhebereiche sowie mehrere Innen- und Außenpools laden zum Abschalten ein. Draußen lockt der Salzwasser-Außenpool, dessen mineralhaltiges Wasser die Haut weich und die Schultern entspannt.

Große Panoramafenster holen vor allem in den Landro-Zimmern die Bergwelt ins Innere, während natürliche Materialien und warme Holzelemente für eine behagliche Atmosphäre sorgen. Kein Hotel-Einerlei, sondern das Gefühl, angekommen zu sein.

Am Abend dann: Fleisch aus eigener Zucht, regionale Produkte, Südtiroler Küche mit modernem Feingefühl – begleitet von erlesenen Weinen aus der Region. Ein Rundum-Wohlfühl-Paket.
