Already in its first year, Nuremberg-based Restaurant Waidwerk has been bestowed with numerous prestigious awards; amongst them, a Michelin star and 16 points from Gault & Millau. A most promising start for an exceptional gourmet restaurant.
“I set great value on the high quality and seasonal and regional availability of my products. The inspiration for my ideas comes from our closeness to the outdoors: by mixing that with culinary input from all over the world, the style of my creations becomes very straightforward, puristic and intensely flavoured,” describes Waidwerk’s chef de cuisine Valentin Rottner. “Like my grandfather, I am a passionate hunter. I therefore make a point of offering game dishes almost all year around.”
Located in the rural outskirts of Nuremberg, family-run Restaurant Waidwerk and adjoining Hotel Rottner are an ideal place to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of the idyllic countryside. “The premises are fantastic! Particularly in summer, when our guests can sit and enjoy a mild summer evening in our age-old walnut-tree garden.”
