On special dates, guests from all directions come together for an afternoon in Gillitzer‘s rooms or on the garden terrace of the Alpenhotel Wittelsbach to enjoy exclusive teas, fine pastries and savoury delicacies.

“You might think that teatime is just about tea, but it is far more than that,” says hotelier Marcus Eismann. “Exclusive teas are the perfect companion to a wonderful afternoon which guests are spending with family or friends, while being served from a tiered tea rack stand in a cosy atmosphere.“ Between 3pm and 6pm, the TeaMasters® Gold dedicate their time to guests, Katharina Eismann and her father Marcus Eismann, both having completed this master class by premium tea brand Ronnefeldt. During Gillitzer‘s teatime only the finest teas are served to guests after being prepared correctly.

The dishes change with the seasons and contain the finest English and Bavarian specialties, ensuring stylish, top-of-the-range refreshments. “Anyone who has ever experienced our teatime usually likes to come back,” enthuses Katharina Eismann. “And we are particularly pleased about that, because we take great care to make the afternoons varied and enchanting.” Guests can complement their teatime with Gillitzer‘s sparkling wine or a glass of champagne, sherry, or one of the many fine spirits of the house.

Of course, every weather condition is perfect for teatime. “When it is really terrible outside, cold and rainy, we light the fireplace to make it cosy,“ says hotelier Anja Eismann. “And in good weather, the guests can gather on our terrace and enjoy the teatime in the countryside with a view into the mountains – nothing could be more beautiful.” It is possible to purchase teatime vouchers, too: “This is a very special present to give to someone, because it is the gift of precious time, time you spend together while talking and relaxing.“

Gillitzer‘s teatime is sometimes confused with the hotel’s weekly tea tastings. During their daily teatime, TeaMasters® Gold serve tea in a relaxed environment, recommend a tea variety and give great advice. During the tea tastings, however, guests can learn about tea in more detail. They are able to try the different types, spoon by spoon, while the TeaMasters give additional explanations. Both, however, are well worth a try.
