Casa Padrino stands for exclusive furniture that is far more than mere home furnishings. Founded in 2007 by Marvin Schertl and managed jointly with his wife, Dr. Sina Schertl, the Essen-based family business has evolved into an international luxury brand offering pieces ranging from Baroque and Rococo to Art Nouveau and modern luxury furniture.

“The core of our brand is not a single style, but an attitude,” explains Marvin Schertl. “A piece of furniture from us is meant to define a room, not merely fill it.” Production is predominantly by hand in specialised European workshops, using solid wood, marble, bronze, and gold leaf. The range is vast, comprising more than 30,000 items, from Baroque-style sofas, armchairs, and beds, to chandeliers, mirrors, and bathroom furnishings, as well as garden furniture, fountains, and life-sized sculptures. While the historical design language is preserved, proportions, fabrics, and finishes are adapted to suit modern residential and commercial interior concepts.

The bespoke sector is becoming increasingly important. Almost every model can be customised in terms of dimensions, wood, finish, and fabric; upon request, a unique, one-of-a-kind piece is created. “It usually starts with an image – a photograph, an architect’s sketch, or a piece from a château,” says Schertl. “From that, we develop the dimensions, materials, and details; the workshop crafts the piece by hand, and we deliver it worldwide, right into the room where it will stand.” Among the most unusual commissions is a carriage in the style of Louis XIV, which can now be seen at the Cité de l’Histoire museum in Paris.

In addition to private clients, the project business is seeing particular growth: Casa Padrino collaborates with architects and interior designers to furnish luxury hotels, restaurants, boutiques, and entire villas. “For us, customisation is not an optional extra but the standard approach,” emphasises Dr. Sina Schertl. “We start with the space and the people, not the catalog.”

The clientele is international, ranging from the Côte d’Azur and Monaco to Switzerland, Dubai, and the USA. Those wishing to experience this diversity firsthand can visit the 1,500-square-metre showroom located in a historic building from 1870 in Essen. A special honour was the award received in Cannes in 2025. “True luxury is something you can feel. It needs no explanation,” says Dr. Sina Schertl. “Our customers aren’t buying furnishings for just a few years. They are buying something that lasts.”
