Organic, vegan, containing no gluten, sugar or additives, and filled with good fats and antioxidants – all of this applies to South America’s tasty açai berry. The young start-up The Rainforest Company has recognised the berry’s potential and distributes sustainable organic açai purees that support farmers in Brazil and counteract the deforestation of the rainforest. Açai is known to carry all important nutrients – that is why Albana Rama and Jan-Philipp Sasse were surprised that they could find hardly any açai in Switzerland and Germany.“The Rainforest Company resulted from our shared love for healthy food and the wish to stop the rainforest’s deforestation,” explains Albana Rama.
