As a medical student, Mareike Awe wanted to find a healthier way to eat. “Five years ago, I was dissatisfied with my eating habits, and so I came across the approach to intuitive eating,” Awe explains, according to the fact that everybody has an intuitive eating habit, but when growing up, certain influences let us eat differently. “We start eating when we are stressed, for example,” Awe says. “In order to learn how to eat intuitively again, we have to listen to our body and train our subconscious.”
